Jake Withnell

Jake is a Senior Financial Advisor at JGP Wealth Management and leads the firm’s Reinsurance team. He works closely with business owners and multigenerational families to help them unlock long-term wealth potential through disciplined, tax-aware financial strategy. Drawing on his background as a Certified Public Accountant, Jake integrates investment management, tax planning, and structural design into cohesive capital strategies.

He specializes in dealer reinsurance — an often underutilized but highly strategic tool for profit participation, risk management, and long-term capital formation. Jake partners with dealership principals to ensure their reinsurance entities are not simply operating in the background, but are intentionally structured, governed, and invested to support broader financial goals. His clients benefit from deep industry insight, coordinated planning, and a customized approach built around how they operate today and where they intend to go.

Jake joined JGP in 2018 after beginning his career in public accounting. He previously worked at KPMG auditing financial statements and at Eide Bailly assisting with business and individual tax compliance and planning. That foundation informs his disciplined, analytical approach to complex financial decisions.

A native of Oregon’s Willamette Valley, Jake earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Eastern Washington University. While at Eastern Washington, he played tight end for the Eagles and was a four-time Big Sky Conference First Team All-Academic honoree.
