Jeff co-founded JGP Wealth Management in 2001 and is responsible for much of the innovation behind our team’s investment strategy and service-oriented approach. He is an advocate and enjoys the individually-focused problem-solving that is required to serve each JGP client’s unique financial needs. His drive is to take care of people, and he appreciates the intimacy shared with clients, as well as the opportunity to contribute to helping them realize the life they want to live.
Nominated by our clients and his peers for his professionalism, Jeff was recognized as a Five Star Wealth Manager* by Portland Monthly Magazine, as well as a Premier Wealth Advisor** and Top Wealth Manager by The Portland Business Journal.
A graduate of the University of Oregon, Jeff began his financial career with U.S. Bancorp in 1989. He later moved on to become a senior vice president and professional sales manager at Merrill Lynch, where his duties ranged from training new advisors and executing day-to-day portfolio management to developing and implementing business plans for the Oregon market.
Jeff formerly served on the Children’s Cancer Association, Arlington Club and Central Catholic High School Endowment board of directors. Additionally, he is a mentor for the Harrington Family Foundation Scholarship Program, as well as a member of the Multnomah Athletic Club and Irvington Club. Married for over 30 years and a father of four who enthusiastically supports his children’s many activities and interests, Jeff enjoys hiking, traveling, reading and being outdoors.
I strongly advocate for others.
I want JGP to be the best! I have a drive to really take care of the people we serve.
Problem-solving and working with our clients.
The intimate nature of the problems we address and the meaning that comes from how we help others.
1. Our mission is helping those we serve to confidently live the life they want.
2. We do what we say.
3. We finish what we start.
4. We employ the Golden Rule and treat others with respect - how we would want to be treated.
I read an article and was struck by how much our work matters to the people we serve.

Kevin is a co-founder and managing partner at JGP Wealth Management and has been successfully managing money since 1996. Kevin takes pride in his ability to ascertain his clients’ deepest values so he can better meet their unique — and often complex — financial objectives. His JGP teammates admire his integrity and dependability: “Kevin is the most ethical guy I’ve met and he is always willing to make the hard decision.”
As chief operating officer, he is responsible for maintaining the high-quality service and efficiency that define JGP Wealth Management’s business practices. His career began at Merrill Lynch. In 2001, when JGP Wealth Management was established, he fulfilled his mission of creating a thriving, Portland-based practice that is committed to the highest standards of ethics and rooted in the idea of always putting client needs and interests first.
A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Kevin has a degree in finance from the Mendoza School of Business. Married and a father of four, he resides in Northeast Portland. In his free time, he enjoys golf, Portland’s live music scene and keeping up with the Fighting Irish.
I’m experienced and have been around a lot of different financial situations. I’m committed to our clients’ well-being and success.
Problem-solving. Taking complex issues and developing concise, simple and executable solutions.
Collective learning. Learning and growing as a person.
Impactful and innovative.
We are easy to work with.
Out of college moving back to Portland and wanted to work in the finance business. Fell in love with helping people achieve success.
Shannon joined JGP Wealth Management in 2018 from Atlanta, GA as the senior research and planning analyst, working in key areas such as portfolio management, capital market assumptions and financial modeling. As the head of our investment committee, she oversees trading and is an intricate part of the team.
Shannon is someone you can rely on for well-researched and accurate information. Starting in the industry in 2005, she most recently worked as an associate wealth manager at BNY Mellon Wealth Management, where she was responsible for the management of high-net-worth client portfolios and relationships. Her prior experience also includes time at Fidelity Investments and Bank of America.
Shannon received her bachelor’s degree in finance and M.B.A. from Florida State University. She is a lifelong learner and holds her Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation.
Shannon enjoys running, pilates and hiking with her husband, Chris. They also enjoy craft beer and wine tasting. Shannon is an avid sports fan, but is most passionate about soccer and FSU sports. Being new to Oregon, she and her husband look forward to discovering everything the area has to offer.
I’ve been in the industry for almost 15 years. During that time, I’ve had the good fortune of working with and learning from very intelligent and experienced colleagues who have mentored me and helped me prepare for this role.
I love learning and have a constant drive to challenge and improve myself.
Trading and economic and market research.
I’d like JGP to be a well-respected firm, known for always doing what’s right for the client. I want people to see us out in our community and know we are committed to making Portland a great city to live in.
I was in college working on my finance degree and I had a friend who knew a vice president at Bank of America. I ended up getting hired at one of the branches and from there transitioned into the Wealth Management field.
I was looking to move out of the corporate world (and out of Atlanta). The energy of all the employees and their genuine care for clients and each other drew me into the culture of the firm.

I am not one to let details slip through the cracks. I am dependable and help keep clients accountable for their own life goals.
I want to be known for doing a good job and providing the very best service for our clients. My pet peeve is bad customer service, so I strive to provide great service.
Meeting with clients.
My favorite clients value everything we offer, are engaged in the process and use all of our services. One client I’m thinking of has really stuck to the plan we have helped create. They are one of the most bulletproof clients because they’ve worked with us and listened to our advice. They appreciate what we do and are able to live more confidently and do the things they are passionate about.
We are unique in that we hold ourselves accountable and always put our clients first. We are great at helping our clients get over the finish line.
I stared at the training program at Merrill Lynch in 1992. The hiring manager said he hired me because he liked my tie.

Jake has been with JGP since 2018. Prior to his joining the team, he worked primarily in the accounting field as a Certified Public Accountant with KPMG, auditing financial statements and assisting businesses and individuals with tax returns while working at Eide Bailly. Jake utilizes this detail-oriented experience to now play a key role in JGP’s portfolio management process, building and analyzing financial models and conducting client cash flow analysis.
Growing up in the Willamette Valley, Jake has deep roots in the Northwest. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Eastern Washington University. He also played tight end for the Eastern Washington University Eagles, all while earning four-time Big Sky Conference First Team All-Academic honors. Jake brings this same athletic work ethic and dedication to his clients at JGP.
In his free time, Jake enjoys many of the outdoor activities the Northwest has to offer. When he’s not outside, he likes to volunteer with the Children’s Cancer Association, Family Building Blocks and New Avenues for Youth.
I am passionate, willing to go the extra mile, and focused.
Bringing value to the community.
I love the client interactions and “stress testing” of the financial plans. I get excited when I have 4 or 5 meetings in a day and I am able to work with the best advisors in the industry. It is a team atmosphere every day I come into work.
My grandfather has been a mentor for me my whole life. He pushed me to find my own passions and has supported me every step of the way. I have enjoyed stepping into an advisor role in his life and returning the service he has always provided me.
The number one thing I hope we are known for is operating ethically and with respect. I hope our clients emphasize our community involvement and our willingness to serve others.
I was fortunate enough to connect with Jeff and Kevin while still attending college and they encouraged me to read and learn as much as I could about the financial markets. I did not know until recently, but Kevin sent me the Wall Street Journal and The Economist for two years while I still attended school. That act of kindness had a positive impact on my professional development.
What attracted me to JGP, was during my first meeting with Kevin, he pointed out a typo that was within my initial introduction email. He did not take it easy on me during that interaction and showed me what being a true professional was all about. Rather than being intimidated, I was attracted to the frankness and immediately thought, “How can I work for someone like this?
Favorite way to spend a free day? I love to travel and get out of town on long weekends. Family beach house in Seaside is a favorite.
Would you rather ride a bike, ride a horse or drive a car? Car all day…a supercharged car.
Do you have a favorite quote? “The single most important distinction in life is to distinguish between an opportunity to be seized and a temptation to be resisted.” — Rabbi Sacks
Have you ever had a surprise party? My claim to fame is throwing the best surprise parties. Waiting for someone to return the favor…

Andrew joined JGP in June 2021 during his final year of law school at Pennsylvania State University. He completed his MBA in finance in 2020, also from Pennsylvania State University. Prior to joining the team, Andrew worked in corporate finance for a large multinational firm headquartered in the Northwest where he gained invaluable experience in financial statement analysis and modeling.
Andrew’s diverse range of experience provides unique value to JGP’s portfolio management process and enables him to serve a wide array of client needs.
Andrew grew up in Northeast Portland and attended Central Catholic High School. He graduated cum laude from Syracuse University in Philosophy/Logic. Stamina and discipline. I won’t rest well until every stone is turned over for our clients.

Thought leaders with genuine commitment to our values.
We are truly invested in helping our clients reach the goals they’ve dedicated their lives to. I think that mission cuts through all the noise out there to what really matters.
Finding a place that genuinely wants you to be fulfilled is incredibly unique.
I knew I needed to pursue my passion for investing. So, I made a list of everyone in the industry I could think of over 50 and still passionate about their work. Jeff made time to talk and the rest is history.

Chris joined JGP Wealth Management in 2022 and brings 15 years of experience in Financial Services, including over a decade with Fidelity Investments. Whether it’s family dynamics or crunching the numbers, Chris thrives in complex situations that require the next level of depth with family and financial planning.
Chris was born and raised in Virginia and has spent most of his professional career living in the Southeastern U.S.
Chris obtained dual bachelor’s degrees from St. Andrews Presbyterian College in North Carolina focusing on Business Management and Psychology. He also has the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation.
Chris enjoys getting out on the trails for a long run, playing guitar and singing, and traveling to see sporting events or live music performances with his wife, Shannon. They also enjoy coffee shops, breweries, and wineries.
Before coming to JGP, Ryan was a financial manager at Opus Agency, a brand events and marketing agency based in Portland. In that role, he worked directly with external clients to help them understand where their money was going, making sure they were staying on budget for large, multi-million dollar events. He enjoyed the challenge of communicating complex financial information and building relationships with clients.
He is currently in the process of finishing his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation. He is looking forward to putting some of what he’s learned so far to work at JGP. Ryan graduated from Miami University with bachelor’s degrees in finance and Spanish. A lover of the outdoors, he spent a year in Peru traveling, hiking and working on his Spanish before moving to Portland in December 2016.
In his free time, Ryan enjoys hiking, climbing, reading, cooking, and spending time with his wife and dog. He recently trained for and completed his first triathlon. He also volunteers with Save First Financial, an organization dedicated to financial wellness and coaching.
I am new to the industry, but learning quickly. I’m pursuing my CFP® certification to improve my skills as a financial planner. I’m currently doing a lot of work with eMoney, modeling out clients’ financial situations and ensuring they’re on track for an awesome retirement.
I’m a big learner, and I feel like this industry is perfect for that personality. There is always more to learn. I also really enjoy the direct impact this job has. Many jobs feel disconnected from the final results. In this job, it’s very easy to see the connection your work has with a client’s financial wellbeing, which is really motivating.
I’ve really enjoyed getting to know everyone in the office. Everyone is really friendly and brings their own unique insights and strengths. It has also been cool to feel things starting to click and also being able to apply the things I’ve learned in my classes to my job.
I am just starting to work with clients so no real stories yet!
I feel like trust is the most important thing to be known for. Our clients know that no matter what the financial markets are doing or what’s happening politically, we are always looking out for their best interests.
I moved over fairly recently to this side of the industry. I’ve always been interested in personal finance and wanted to take that passion to help other people. I enrolled in CFP® classes through the University of Portland and was introduced to Jeff and Kevin. I’ve been working at JGP for a short period and love being able to apply my knowledge to real-life situations.
It was important for me to work for a company that focuses on its clients and growing its employees. I was really impressed by how important it is to Jeff to make sure JGP feels like a family and that people want to stay here for a long time.

I am reliable, work with intention, and am thoughtful about my approach.
Helping clients feel heard, respected, and supported in their goals.
I greatly value building relationships and finding solutions! If I can make someone’s day a little bit easier or better, then I feel instant gratification.
I enjoy hearing from clients how they are living the lives they want to live, whether it be camping, traveling, or celebrating the birth of their grandbaby. It brings me joy to know that we can play a part in helping them plan and achieve their goals.
My dedication and willingness to go the extra mile for my team and clients.
We hold ourselves to the highest standard. Our clients are our top priority and will always be honest and prioritize their best interest.
I began building a foundation for financial advising at a young age watching my family in the industry. I spent some time working at another financial services firm and then spent four years working in commercial real estate. Both companies were heavily focused on helping clients and tenants achieve their goals. I knew I found the perfect balance when I joined JGP. Their mission is something I’ve lived by my entire life and the work we do is important.
Kendra is among the best in the business. She is passionate about ensuring our clients’ experience is unsurpassed. She accomplishes this by actively engaging with clients throughout the investment planning process. She takes responsibility for proactively coordinating communication with our clients at times when there are complex financial and business service relationships.
Kendra joined JGP Wealth Management in 2015, bringing with her almost two decades of experience in the industry to the team. Her teammates appreciate her accountability and willingness to share her seasoned knowledge.
A graduate of the University of Idaho, Kendra has spent most of her life in the Portland area. Married with one daughter, she is a strong supporter of the Oregon Humane Society and SOLVE. She also volunteers in her daughter’s classroom as often as possible. Kendra and her family enjoy traveling, wine tasting in the Pacific Northwest, cooking at home and taking long walks in their neighborhood.
My commitment to helping them resolve issues.
Clients’ satisfaction.
Working with clients to find solutions to their problems and helping them make everyday living easier.
There are two relationships that come to mind. Both families have demanding schedules and daily lives, but they always manage to show kindness and humor when we work together. They take full advantage of the services we offer and appreciate all we do to make their lives easier.
I’d like clients to be saying, “JGP really hears me and has my best interest at heart.”
It was a fluke. The size of the firm, commitment to clients and the passion for the work!

Providing memorable customer service is Ceri’s specialty, as she truly feels a passion for helping people. Ceri leads the operations team, oversees marketing projects and helps plan client events and workshops.
Ceri has been in the financial industry since 1999. The majority of this time has been working for JGP Wealth Management. Over the past two decades, she has spent time at Merrill Lynch, First Union, Wachovia, Umpqua Bank, Wells Fargo and now Fidelity. Her responsibilities are concentrated on building and maintaining client relationships. As operations team leader, she is enthusiastic about making sure JGP’s clients always have a very positive experience.
In her free time, Ceri volunteers with the Children’s Book Bank. She is also actively involved with her daughter’s elementary school. She enjoys reading, traveling to warm and sunny places and cooking for friends and family. As a lifelong Oregonian and graduate of the University of Oregon, she loves cheering on the Ducks and Blazers.
I’ve passionately spent my career servicing and helping clients achieve their financial goals. I believe these experiences have led me to lead our operations team. Clients can have confidence that we are making every decision with them in mind.
To be the best I can be and to help others.
I love the variety my position holds. We have such a strong, experienced operations team. I enjoy our meetings together, where we spend our time creating or improving an existing process. I also love the chance to interact with our clients at our workshops or community events.
We have a lot of really great clients. There is one couple we’ve worked with for many years who are now retired, active in the community and spending time with their family. I love hearing what new activity or class they are taking — from gardening and yoga to rebuilding small machines, they are an inspiration and such kind people. I love that their relationship has extended to their now adult children.
I want JGP to be known for our class, integrity and passion for taking care of our clients.
I started at Merrill Lynch with Jeff, Joe and Kevin in 1999 after graduating from the University of Oregon. I was excited to have a job right out of college and thought it would be a good idea to have an understanding of the financial industry for myself, even if the job didn’t last. I guess it was meant to be since I’ve returned to JGP three times now.
The people are what keeps attracting me back to JGP. The leadership that Jeff and Kevin provide is motivating, and their encouragement to grow and learn continues to be a part of everyday life at JGP. The support we show each other makes this a place you want to be a part of.

Jon plays an integral role in JGP’s operations team. He is a primary contact in our new client onboarding process and assists in the execution of our investment strategies. One JGP teammate said, “He very much has a can-do attitude and isn’t afraid to do the hard work. I don’t ever wonder if something is going to get done. I know if I ask something of him, he will get it done.”
Jon is the definition of dependable. He has earned a reputation among our clients as someone who can take something complex and find a solution. A native Oregonian, he enjoys a range of outdoor activities, including boating, camping and hiking. He is a Nebraska football fan and enjoys supporting his son’s hockey team by traveling all over the Pacific Northwest with them. Hanging out with his family and dog are his desired ways to spend his free time.
I am service-oriented and can be trusted to get the job done. Good service is very hard to come by, and I want to be known for the service I provide. I like to find the missing link and leave no stone unturned. I want to be known for doing the right thing and for being principled.
People showing me appreciation and recognition for a job well done.
I like talking and interacting with clients. I like taking something complex, finding a solution and putting pieces of the puzzle together. I like doing things other people don’t like to do or won’t do.
I enjoy working with clients who are engaged in their investments and have an interest in what we do.
We know about our clients and their families. We do an exceptional job of listening and getting to know our clients; we truly care. Lots of firms say this, but we really do it and I think it separates us from a lot of other teams. Everyone here is 100 percent committed.
I started as a bank teller in 1999 at Wells Fargo. The movie, “Family Man”, sparked my interest in the investment industry. I’ve always been good at math and with numbers. After working at a retail branch for a few brokers, I become frustrated with how little the advisors knew about their clients and how they ran their business. I was introduced to Kevin by a colleague and could instantly tell JGP’s values were aligned with mine. They were running their business the way I felt it should be done: with the client at the forefront.

Salle joined JGP Wealth Management in 2018 as a senior client service associate. She began her career in the financial services industry in 1995 as a financial advisor, yet she found her passion within client service, operations and account management.
Salle plays an important role as a part of the operations committee. She assists with answering administrative questions and interfacing with clients’ professionals. You will find Salle to be thoughtful and organized, delivering concierge-level service to our clients.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Northridge. Her favorite things to do outside of the office include cooking and entertaining and participating in the various arts events around Portland, as well as giving back to the community by volunteering at the food bank. She is a dog lover and enjoys having fun with Ruby, who has become a welcome mascot at JGP.
That I can be tenacious. I’ll do whatever it takes to make their financial lives easier, and I’ll take the time to explain everything so they really understand.
I set high standards for myself, and I like the feeling I get when a job is done well.
Interacting with my teammates, creating ways to be better at what we do and providing the best possible service to our clients.
My favorite interactions with clients are those where the client takes our lead and follows through with their homework, which in turn allows me to do my best for their financial situation.
That we always put the client first and go above and beyond their expectations, delivering the ultimate client-centric experience for a financial firm.
Back in the dark ages, my father thought I should be a CPA, but accounting wasn’t where I excelled. So, I became a financial advisor and over the years, I realized that the service side of the business was where I felt at home and happy.
The opportunity to create and grow the BEST financial firm was very attractive. After 20+ years at a large wirehouse/brokerage firm, I desired flexibility and respect.

Jami is known for her drive to exceed clients’ service and support expectations. You can count on Jami to be ready with a smile and genuine care while providing her trademark prompt and efficient service.

I enjoy being part of a team and supporting my coworkers in any way possible so that our clients can live the life they dream about.
I have high standards for customer service and support and I am motivated by my own desire to exceed those standards in my daily interactions. I also deeply value a genuine connection with our clients while providing top-notch service.
Tackling whatever I have on my plate! I enjoy supporting a team with whatever that takes. If my team feels supported, I am content! I look forward to giving high fives again one day!
One of my favorite past clients kept me on my toes. He was a force to be reckoned with that had high expectations but also the most welcoming conversations. We always got down to business, ensured we had everything we needed, and then he’d go on and on about his grandkids or ask questions about what new adventure I was up to that weekend. I loved the mix of both serving his practical needs while also building a relationship.
I enjoy creating relationships in everything I do. The team works better when we know each other well, and the same goes for clients. I like developing a deeper understanding of their lives and what makes them tick so I can tailor my support to help them.
In addition to client care, I’d say accountability. When JGP says they’re going to do something, you know the entire team is working to get it done.
In everything I have seen so far, the dedication this company shows to its clients is unparalleled. The amount of time that is spent building processes and systems, as well as the dedication given to finding the right team to work together is notable. When people work together well, and systems are in place, it makes for a much more enjoyable experience for all involved, especially the clients!
If your priorities are to help people and families grow and be part of a team that enjoys spending time together, JGP is the place to be. The leadership of JGP values people and their mission. They invest in people to ensure the team keeps moving forward.
I worked at a small commercial bank in Eugene that also had a family financial planning office. When the financial planning arm of the bank left to start their own company, I was asked to join them. I am still grateful for that chance as my eyes were opened to an entirely different world in financial services. It has been incredibly rewarding to assist in the growing opportunities for families and their future.

Cindy is the friendly voice and warm smile that clients first hear and see when interacting with JGP. She reflects JGP’s commitment to hospitality and provides the welcoming atmosphere that JGP is known for.
She has spent the last 20 years in customer relations and office management in the healthcare industry. In fact, many of our JGP Wealth Management teammates have known and worked with her for a number of years.
Born and raised in Portland, OR, Cindy is the mother of two boys and enjoys spending time with them and her granddaughter. Her hobbies include gardening, hiking, cooking, listening to music, watching sports and spending time at the beach.
I am motivated to make people happy and cultivate relationships. I love all aspects of building relationships; I find it very rewarding.
I love interacting with clients, as well as my co-workers. I feel good when I can do things for others and help make their lives easier.
One client called in shortly after I had joined JGP, and I answered by saying my previous office’s name. I apologized and explained my previous employer was a dental office. He thought it was funny, laughed and said, “Well now you’re working for Dr. Dollars”.
So, now when I talk to him, we always laugh about it and he will call for Dr. Dollars. It is nice to be able to build relationships with individuals and have a laugh together as well.
That we are warm and caring and not like other firms. Clients aren’t just a number or a dollar amount to us; we have solid relationships with our clients, as well as their families.
I worked in a dental office for 20 years prior to joining JGP — Jeff, Kevin and Joe were my patients. After leaving the dental industry, I got a call from Jeff letting me know that they needed an office manager, and they would love to have me on the team! It’s a big leap from dentistry, but I am so happy to be here.
After a three-year break from the financial industry to raise her two sons, Karen rejoined the JGP team in 2018 to assist with special projects. Karen’s attention to detail and industry knowledge are two of the many things people appreciate about her. She has over 15 years of industry experience, six of which have been with JGP. Karen’s ability to prioritize and work quickly and efficiently make her a valued member of our team.
A graduate of the University of Puget Sound, Karen got her start in the financial industry after college, beginning with an internship where she worked for her family’s financial advisor. Karen enjoys working in a team atmosphere, which eventually led her to JGP Wealth Management. In her free time, Karen and her husband enjoy playing with their boys, going to Timbers games, playing recreational league softball and reading.
I am diligent, work with integrity and strive to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
I like the challenge of new and unique client situations, but I also like to provide consistent service for our existing clients.
My coworkers are my favorite part of coming to work. I also love to catch up with clients and hear about their lives.
One couple in particular lives in my neighborhood, and I have enjoyed getting to know them through work and outside of work. They are genuine and good people. They are a pleasure to work with and are appreciative of the services that JGP provides for their family.
I would like JGP to be known for excellent and consistent client service. I would like our clients to say the same.
I did an internship with our family’s financial advisor that turned into a full-time job after graduating college. I wanted to work for a group that provided excellent client service and went the extra mile for their clients.
